This quiet pub on the main road out of Chester is laid out in the traditional 'rabbit warren' fashion.
It's the kind of place to come to if you need a break from the action in the centre of town. It also makes a good spot to while away the hour you're going to have to spend waiting for a table at nearby Franc's or Paparazzi.
Expect a good selection of well-kept draught beers and a decent range of standard pub food. Music is quiet enough to allow conversation and there's a small TV in one bar for sport lovers. Redecorated in August 97 (though you wouldn't notice), it also has rooms at £40 a double. A nice little patio in the back is good for summer evenings.
